Gen Y's "Go to Gal" Kate Whitfield is a 23 year old on a mission to empower girls, young women and their mom's to take action and totally transform their body image, self esteem and the vision for their lives. She is the founder of Empowered Gal Inc and the author of the teen girl handbook The Empowered Gal's 9 Life Lessons. Whether Kate is speaking to an auditorium full of teens or facilitating a mom/daughter workshop, Kate's passion for inspiring teens and her ability to connect with a wide variety of audiences is evident.

Kate knows the issues and pressures affecting teens all too well, considering she was just there not too long ago. Kate suffered with her own issues with body image all through middle/high school like most teens and has walked the long road to self acceptance, and now teaches girls all they need to know to make the journey themselves.

Instead of sitting back and thinking about living her dreams, Kate took action and made her vision a reality while still in high school. Since then, Kate has spoken to tens of thousands of teens all across North America, shared her big-sister-style advice on radio and TV shows (including regular appearances on City TV's Breakfast Television) and has created several successful in school programs to build leadership ability, increase self esteem, and combat bullying & "mean girls".

Kate loves being considered a "real" role model and a "big sister" to a whole generation of teen girls & young women.
